I designed this journal with our beloved state, North Carolina, in mind. As a born and raised native to the Piedmont Triad, Thomasville, NC, I wanted to pay homage to our state. The NC Lighthouses are on the front of the journal along with our state flower, the Dogwood. I also incorporated lines to represent our Blue Ridge Mountains and cascading lines from the base of the lighthouses to represent our hardworking farmers across NC. On the back, there are multiple honeybees, cardinals and dogwood flowers. I drew this design digitally and worked side by side with my brother at Statedwoods Co in West End, NC to laser engrave my design into the leather. This journal is made from a very soft and durable tan cowhide leather that has a flexible temperment but stiff enough to be substantial for decades to come.
